What’s the purpose of handles on doors?

Posted by Corey Charette on Nov 19, 2008 in Weirdness |

As I was leaving work I noticed that our fancy door has handles on both sides of it.  Each side also has a direction of what to do.

Now the door can only be pulled on one side, and pushed on the other.  Why put a handle on the push side?  That makes no sense to me.  You can try to pull on the handle, but the door won’t budge, and it’ll make you look like an idiot.

That’s a good way to save money.  Just put the handle on the pull side and nothing on the push side and leave off the directions on how to use a door.
